General Assembly elected new ISF Assessor

Oct 24, Manama, Bahrain – The ISF General Assembly (ISF GA) took place in Bahrain, with 92 ISF members participating either in person or virtually.

The assembly was opened with a speech from His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education of Bahrain, who conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He expressed gratitude for His Majesty’s high patronage of this international event.

In his address, the Minister welcomed the International School Sports Federation and all participating delegations, emphasising that Bahrain’s leadership fully supports the idea that sport unites different cultures, builds bridges between societies, and fosters mutual understanding.

Dr Sager Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Schools and College Athletic Association, reaffirmed Bahrain’s focus on developing sports in educational institutions and noted the leadership’s role in this effort. He emphasised how the conference offered an essential platform for sharing successful experiences and reviewing updates from member states.

Youssef Belqasmi, Acting President of ISF, praised Bahrain for successfully hosting the event and bringing together such a large number of delegations. He also acknowledged the excellence of Bahrain’s facilities, highlighting its capability to host major international events.

During the assembly, Iraq School Sport Federation was announced as the 136th member of ISF, receiving a warm welcome from the attending representatives. The assembly also reviewed and approved ISF’s annual activity reports, the 2025 budget, and the event plans.

Under the supervision of the scrutineers, the delegates participated in a vote where Constantin Caliman (Romania) was elected as the new ISF Assessor.

As the supreme governing body of ISF, the General Assembly holds all powers specifically conferred to it by law and its articles of association. It has the authority to vote on key matters such as membership status, the appointment and dismissal of Executive Committee members, approval of ISF’s annual financial and activity reports, and amendments to the articles of association.
