ISF Advances in Governance and Olympic Development
Jul. 19, Lausanne, Switzerland – ISF made significant strides in its governance and Olympic integration by participating in an International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS) event focused on good governance. Organized by the IPACS and the Legal Department of International Olympic Committee (IOC), this event emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity in sports administration.
During this event, the ISF's Integrity Committee was invited to share best practices on integrity implementation. Sophie Bordet, Chair of ISF Integrity Committee, represented the ISF on the expert panel, discussing her work within the organization and the structural challenges faced. This participation underscores ISF's commitment to becoming a transparent and accountable organization, aligning with the updated Basic Universal Principles of Good Governance (BUPGG) within the Olympic Movement.
The involvement in the IPACS/IOC initiative provided ISF with an invaluable platform to demonstrate its ongoing development and dedication to good governance. By engaging in these high-level discussions, ISF is positioning itself as a proactive entity within the Olympic framework, striving to meet and exceed governance standards set by the IOC.
Furthermore, ISF's participation in such forums exemplifies its dedication to growing within the Olympic Movement. The opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences with other IOC-recognized sports organizations allows ISF to continuously improve its governance practices, ultimately contributing to the broader goal of fostering integrity and transparency in sports.
In conclusion, ISF's proactive approach to governance and its active participation in key initiatives like the IPACS event highlight its potential for growth and its commitment to becoming a leading example of good governance within the international sports community. This engagement marks a pivotal moment in ISF's journey towards establishing itself as a transparent and accountable organization within the Olympic Movement.
– About IPACS–
IPACS was launched at the IOC’s International Forum on Sport Integrity (IFSI) held in February 2017.
It is a multi-stakeholder platform with the mission “to bring together international sports organisations, governments, inter-governmental organisations, and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen and support efforts to eliminate corruption and promote a culture of good governance in and around sport”, as agreed at IPACS’ first working group meeting in June 2017.
