Breaking Brilliance: Opening Day of Dance Sport at ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2025

Apr. 7, Odmaralište Golija, SERBIA – The breaking competition at ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2025 kicked off with high energy and fierce battles at Odmaralište Golija. In a testament to the athletes’ skill, three matchups required tiebreak rounds after judges were split 1:1—underscoring the tight competition.

Powerhouse teams like China, Romania, Chinese Taipei and Ukraine, and impressed with both presence and performance. China dominated the podium with double gold in the B-Boy and B-Girl 1vs1. Chinese Taipei followed closely, earning silver and bronze in B-Boy and silver in B-Girl. Ukraine’s Nika Star secured a bronze in the B-Girl category. Despite many teammates facing off early due to a random draw, sportsmanship prevailed. After every round, athletes exchanged handshakes and smiles—reminding everyone that friendship and respect are as meaningful as medals.

Among the day’s standout stories was B-Boy Saturn of Chinese Taipei. The reigning 2024 Nanterious Break World Champion dazzled in the Top 8 and won a tense tiebreak against Ukraine’s B-Boy Muha. But in the semifinals, he fell to longtime rival B-Boy Holyrain.

Backstage, Saturn couldn’t hide his disappointment. Yet minutes later, he returned to face teammate B-Boy Jason in the bronze medal match—this time with focus and determination. Saturn won 2:0.

“I was really upset after the semifinals because I felt I had a chance to win,” Saturn told ISF. “But my coach reminded me to stay focused and not let one match define me. I’m grateful I could bounce back and finish strong.”

The breaking event continues April 8 with the 2v2 Mixed Battle, as athletes from around the world return to the stage, ready to compete with passion and heart.
