ISF Executive Committee Meets in Bahrain
Oct. 21, Manama, Bahrain – With two days to the opening of the ISF Gymnasiade – Bahrain 2024, the ISF Executive Committee convened a regular meeting in Manama, Bahrain.
One of the key topics of discussion was ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of work following Mr. Laurent Petrynka’s decision to resign as ISF President a few days ago. The ISF Executive Committee officially acknowledged and confirmed Mr. Petrynka’s resignation.
In accordance with the ISF statutes, ISF 1st Vice President, Mr. Youssef Belqasmi, will serve as Acting President until the regular election at the ISF General Assembly in April 2025.
To ensure the stability of the organisation during this transition period, while also adopting a forward-looking approach for the development of ISF, the Executive Committee decided to establish a Support Committee, led by ISF Executive Committee member Mr. Zeljko Tanaskovic, to provide assistance and ensure the continued success of ISF moving forward.
The ISF Executive Committee acknowledged the tremendous contribution of Mr. Petrynka since 2014. The committee also reaffirmed that its primary focus on good governance, ethics, and democracy remains unchanged, and it will continue to ensure full transparency and sustainability in its administrative and financial operations.
