ISF Conducts Site Visit for Inaugural World School Golf Championship in Rabat
Feb. 11, Lausanne, Switzerland – Following the successful organization of the ISF Football World Cup in 2023, Rabat is once again making history by introducing golf to the ISF event portfolio. This July, Morocco’s capital will welcome student-athletes from around the world to compete in the inaugural ISF World School Golf Championship, marking a significant milestone for both ISF and the sport’s expansion in school competitions.
During the two-day visit, the ISF delegation closely examined the tournament infrastructure and operational framework led by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation. In collaboration with the Moroccan School Sport Association, ISF officials also assessed the proposed venues for the opening and closing ceremonies, the athletes' village, and key logistical facilities. Several working meetings were held with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to finalize plans, with updates now reflected in the latest version of Bulletin 1.
The Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, a world-class venue that regularly hosts international elite tournaments like the Hassan II Golf Trophy, will serve as the ISF WSC Golf’s main competition site. The concurrent Pro-Am and Hassan II Kids Cup events highlighted the course’s exceptional facilities and its strong commitment to youth golf development.
Additionally, the ISF delegation visited Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, which will play a vital role in providing accommodation, catering, and educational programs for the participating teams. The integration of academic institutions into the ISF event framework aligns perfectly with ISF’s commitment to sustainability in school sport event management.
With preparations well underway, ISF and its Moroccan partners are dedicated to delivering a world-class tournament that not only elevates golf within the school sports ecosystem but also reinforces the core values of education, sustainability, and international collaboration in youth sports.
