Knowledge Legacy and Impact of ISF Gymnasiade 2024
Feb 24, Lausanne, Switzerland – The legacy of ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 continues to make a lasting impact on the development of sports and education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Months after the successful conclusion of the event, local stakeholders are actively engaging in knowledge-sharing initiatives to maximize the long-term benefits of hosting an international school sport event.
As part of these efforts, the Abdul Rahman Kano Cultural Center recently organized a seminar titled "International School Games Course: Achievements and Aspirations." The event gathered a distinguished audience, including government officials, educators, academics, and sports professionals, to discuss the organizational experience and lessons learned from hosting the Gymnasiade.
Key speakers, including His Excellency Mr. Ali Isa Ishaqi , Chairman of the event’s Executive Committee, Wafa Al-Jazaf, Chairman of the event’s Volunteers Committee, and other senior members of the organizing team, shared their insights on the event’s planning and execution. This initiative underscores Bahrain’s commitment to leveraging the Gymnasiade’s knowledge legacy for the continued advancement of school sports in the region.
In addition to these educational efforts, represented by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the event, and His Excellency Mr. Ali Isa Ishaqi, the Bahrain 2024 Executive Committee recently presented the official final report of ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the General Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority of Bahrain, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The report provided a comprehensive review of the event’s operational framework, competition venues, committee contributions, financial and media outcomes, and feedback from participating delegations.
HH Sheikh Khalid commended the remarkable success of the event and praised the collaborative efforts of the Bahrain 2024 Executive Committee, of the Ministry of Education, and various governmental and private entities. He highlighted the international recognition received by Bahrain for its exceptional hosting of over 5,500 participants, emphasizing the positive impact of the Gymnasiade on the country’s sports infrastructure and global reputation.
The ISF Gymnasiade 2024 has not only strengthened Bahrain’s position as a hub for international school sport but has also fostered a sustainable model of knowledge transfer and sports development. Through continued initiatives and collaboration, the legacy of this event will serve as a blueprint for future editions of the ISF Gymnasiade and other global school sports competitions.
