ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2025 Concludes in Zlatibor, Celebrating Unity in Sport
Apr. 14, Zlatibor, Serbia – After ten days of inspiring performances, international exchange, and unforgettable memories, the ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2025 has officially come to a close in Zlatibor, Serbia.
The event brought together nearly 4,000 participants from around the world, including athletes, coaches, and officials, representing close to 60 countries and regions. Over the course of the week, competitions unfolded across 22 sports — including three para sports — providing a powerful platform for young people to express their talent, resilience, and sportsmanship.
One of the standout educational initiatives was the ISF Forum, held under the theme “Beyond the Events: How School Sports Shape Future Leaders.” The programme included a keynote address by Dora Hegyi, member of the WADA Athlete Council, focusing on integrity and clean competition in youth sport. Two panel discussions brought together speakers from national education ministries, universities, and international sports organisations, including WADA, the Ministry of Education of Serbia, Badminton World Federation, World Athletics, International Gymnastics Federation, and United World Wrestling.
These sessions highlighted how school sport can equip young people with leadership skills, ethical values, and tools for future careers beyond the field of play.
Another signature tradition, the Nations Night, once again proved to be a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity. Delegations proudly showcased elements of their local traditions — from music and dance to food and dress — fostering friendship and understanding beyond competition.
The Closing Ceremony, held on April 12 at King's Square in Zlatibor, featured heartfelt moments and reflections on a remarkable edition. Representing ISF, Vice President Antonio Hora Filho delivered the official address:
“You have competed with heart, supported each other, and shown the true spirit of school sport. This event was not just about medals – it was about meeting new people, learning from one another, and growing together. The friendships and memories made here will last a lifetime.”
“To our young athletes – you are the future. Keep dreaming big, keep working hard, and never forget the joy of sport.”
As the flags were lowered and the flame extinguished, the ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2025 leaves behind not only results and rankings, but thousands of stories of growth, resilience, and cross-cultural connection — a true embodiment of ISF’s mission to empower youth through sport and education.
