World School Athletes Arrive for ISF Gymnasiade – Bahrain 2024
Oct. 23, Manama, Bahrain – School athletes from around the globe are arriving in Manama for the ISF Gymnasiade – Bahrain 2024, the world’s biggest school sport event, taking place from October 23 to 31.
A record-breaking number of over 5,000 participants from 70 delegations are gearing up to compete in 26 sports, which includes 4 para sports. Teams arriving at Bahrain International Airport were welcomed by the Local Organizing Committee(LOC) setting the tone for a week filled with not only competitions but also cultural convergence. The school athletes are eager to compete, connect, and uphold the event's values of respect, sportsmanship, and excellence.
In the coming days, activities will begin with the opening ceremony on October 24 at Bahrain National Stadium, featuring cultural performances and a parade of nations. October 27 is Cultural Day, offering participants the chance to explore Bahrain’s rich heritage and partake in Nations Night, held in the Fun and Skill Zone. The Nations Night serves as a precious platform for each delegation to showcase their country's traditions through food, performances, and displays, engaging in cultural exchange and establishing precious bonds that cross borders.
The diversity of this year’s event is remarkable, demonstrating cultures from all continents. Every delegation, regardless of size, contributes to the event's vibrant spirit of unity and shared passion for sport.
As the school athletes settle in and prepare for the competition, the air is filled with excitement and anticipation. The ISF Gymnasiade – Bahrain 2024 promises not only a celebration of athleticism but also the formation of new friendships. The ISF, in collaboration with the LOC, has worked to ensure a memorable experience for all participants.
