Start of Competitions at ISF U15 Gymnasiade in Rio de Janeiro

The ISF U15 Gymnasiade has kicked off with a spirited start, bringing together young athletes from around the world for two days of intense sporting action.

Spread across four venues throughout Rio de Janeiro, U15 Gymnasiade has seen over 2000 athletes from various countries compete in a wide array of disciplines, including athletics, swimming, badminton, 3x3 basketball, archery, dancesport, rhythmic gymnastics, orienteering, chess, as well as combat sports like boxing, karate, and taekwondo.

The first two days of these Gymnasiade have been marked by impressive performances from the host nation, Brazil, as well as from teams representing England and China, who have won their places on the podium. Brazil has surged ahead, amassing a remarkable 23 gold medals out of the 66 medals awarded so far. England claims the second spot with 14 gold medals, closely pursued by China with12 golds medals.

Not far behind, Chinese Taipei follows closely in the medal tally with 11 gold medals. Determined, they are poised to seize any opportunity that comes their way and secure a spot on the coveted podium.

However, nothing is set in stone, as the competition continues and the launch of numerous sports such as wrestling, judo, fencing and artistic gymnastics is still to come! The remaining three days of competition hold immense significance for a multitude of countries and their aspiring athletes.
