ISF President Meets Chinese High-level Authorities of Education
Feb 1, Lausanne, Switzerland – ISF President Laurent Petrynka meets Wang Jiayi, Vice Minister of Education of the P.R.China, accompanied by Liu Lixin, Vice President of China School Sports Federation (FSSC).
The topic of discussion starts with the upcoming ISF events. Laurent highly praised China for its contributions to hosting ISF events.
Jiayi introduced, in order to welcome the ISF World Cup in Dalian this May, recently China have launched a new program to promote football over 300,000 middle schools and primary schools, and to train over 100,000 physical education teachers in football coaching in five years.
“In addition to the cooperation in football, I wish that we also reinforce and enhance our cooperation among other fields. Not only to promote the future development of school sports in China, but also to promote the future development of school sports globally.” Jiayi added, “We can further expand our future cooperation at the issue of the allocation of (ISF’s) Asian regional office in China.”
Laurent stated, "China's education administration has long shown a commitment to school sports and student health, aligning well with ISF's philosophy of utilizing student competitions to inspire youth participation in sports and expand education beyond the sports arena."
Representatives from relevant organizations and government departments, including Chinese National Commission of UNESCO, and Chinese Embassy in Switzerland also attended the meeting. They exchanged views with ISF representatives on further collaboration in their respective fields.
