Oct. 18th, Manama, Bahrain — A few days earlier, ISF organised an online meeting of Technical Committee (TC) Presidents to review the readiness of upcoming ISF Gymnasiade – Bahrain 2024.

During the meeting, ISF TC Presidents reported the progress regarding the venue and sport organisation of their respective sports and discussed about the final preparation of the event. After an into details discussion, ISF Sport Director Saurabh Mishra and the TC presidents agreed that the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has been tightly cooperating along with the ISF technical team, which promised the smooth delivery of the Gymnasiade.

Ozgur Solakoglu, ISF TC President of Chess, concluded the meeting, “Today we had a productive meeting, and thanks to Saurabh and Justine Le Gall (ISF Sport Manager) for covering all key points for us regarding Gymnasiade Bahrain.”

While Dragana Majcen, ISF TC President of Dance Sport, was excited about the journey, “in pleasant company our dear colleagues, we held the last briefing meeting. Ready for another fantastic event to be delivered”

Following the meeting of ISF Technical Committee, the LOC’s Technical Committee hosted a meeting on the 16th confirming that the event’s final preparation was progressing smoothly.

Led by Lounes Madene, chair of LOC’s Technical Committee, the committee members reviewed the logistical and administrative arrangements of the competition operation and management. Madeline emphasised the importance of timely delivery, and reviewed, with his team, the readiness of sport equipment and facilities per venue and the competition schedule. The committee then confirmed that all sports supplies were ready and respecting the requirements.

The committee also discussed the inter-function-area coordination during the tournament. Providing good conditions for participants, maintaining the highest standards of safety and organisation, and focusing on sportsmanship and fair play were set as the priority of the event organisation. The committee anticipates the Gymnasiade will foster cross-cultural communication and provide a unique and enriching experience for the participants.

“Bahrain, athletes, coaches and symphatisants," Pieter Schippers, ISF TC President of Table Tennis, says in the online meeting.
