Values, visions, challenges, and opportunities: ISF President Laurent Petrynka met with her Excellency Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani
The introduction meeting between ISF President Laurent Petrynka and Her Excellency Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, took place in Qatar for the benefit of bringing the two organisations closer together, around the same goals and vision.
A few months ago, the International Olympic Committee selected its Education Commission members, with the final composition seeing both Mr Petrynka together with Her Excellency Sheika Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani, included in the commission.
The focus of these roles is on the promotion of Olympic values-based education and the creation of activities related to the education of youth through sport.
ISF activities and events engage school athletes and create platforms for their global development through sport, education, and culture, tackling issues of gender inequality in the sports field, lack of physical activity between youth, safe sports, and many more.
This meeting was an opportunity to share and exchange the vision, goals, and mission ISF and Qatar Foundation share whilst raising future challenges in sport and education with both parties committed to engage in these topics in the near future with concrete programmes.
The main topics were highlighting girls' sport and female empowerment as well as the importance of physical education at primary and secondary levels.
Sharing the same vision and goals while having a steady mission focused on the global development of youth using sport and education tools, ISF and the Qatar Foundation can be ready to tackle possible future challenges bringing with them new opportunities.
