ISF Attend Council of Europe Visit to North Macedonia, as School Sport Takes Centre Stage
On the 30th September, school sport was in the spotlight in North Macedonia, during the Council of Europe’s (CoE) assessment visit on the implementation of the revised European Sports Charter.
The representative of ISF, and Member of the Evaluation Commission, Mr Kolë Gjeloshaj, had the opportunity during the visit, to meet with the Deputy Prime Minister, Ms Slavica Grkovska. Furthermore, due to the fact that Macedonian School Sport Federation was among the federations consulted, it was represented by Mr Nikola Boglev, who together with the Municipality of Skopje and the NOC, intervened in the visit.
In North Macedonia, school sport is not only included in national law regarding sport, but is above all else, the location where sport is practised the most, with school facilities being used for sport at all levels of competition, and by all sports federations.
