Nepal School Sports Federation Elects New Leadership

Dec 16, Kathmandu, Nepal – The Nepal School Sports Federation (NSSF) held its General Assembly on December 14 in Kathmandu, marking a significant milestone for the development of school sports in Nepal.

The event was inaugurated by Hon. Devraj Ghimire, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, and was attended by distinguished guests, including:

• Hon. Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, Former President of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC);
• Mr. Tanklal Ghising, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council;
• Mr. Nilendraraj Shrestha, Secretary General of the Nepal Olympic Committee;
• Mr. Anjan Dhamala, Board Member of the National Sports Council;
• Mr. Samrat Kusari, President/Secretary General of National Sports Entities.

Additionally, over 100 General Assembly delegates participated, representing NSSF’s 7 provincial associations and 57 district associations.

The General Assembly unanimously elected a 17-member board committee, with Binod Shrestha assuming the role of President. This leadership team is poised to guide NSSF’s mission of enhancing school sports throughout Nepal, fostering greater opportunities for students to engage in physical activity and competition.

As a proud member of the International School Sport Federation (ISF), NSSF continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting school sport at both the national and international levels. ISF extends its congratulations to the newly elected committee and reaffirms its support for NSSF’s efforts to strengthen the role of sport in education.

This election signals a new chapter in Nepal’s school sports landscape, aligning with ISF’s global mission of empowering youth through sport and education.
