Kazakhstan Celebrates Student-Athletes' Success at U15 Gymnasiade 2025
Apr. 17, Almaty, Kazakhstan – Following their participation in the ISF U15 Gymnasiade – Zlatibor, Serbia 2025, the medal-winning delegation of Kazakhstan returned home to a warm welcome and wide recognition. As the largest ISF multi-sport event of the year, the Gymnasiade gathered delegations from nearly 60 countries and regions, offering a global platform for young student-athletes to showcase their talent, values, and determination.
Representing Kazakhstan in Boxing, Chess, Judo and Wrestling, the young athletes competed with exceptional skill and spirit. Their efforts were rewarded with an impressive 11-medal tally, including 6 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals, placing the delegation 13th in the overall medal ranking. This achievement is a testament to the athletes' dedication, preparation, and perseverance – qualities nurtured through Kazakhstan’s school sport system and strongly supported by the national federation.
In recognition of their success, all medal-winning athletes and their coaches received official letters of appreciation along with monetary awards of up to 2,000 USD. These prizes serve not only as a celebration of their achievements, but also as motivation for continued development in sport.
Furthermore, the student-athletes were granted educational scholarships, providing access to higher education opportunities within Kazakhstan. This initiative reinforces the link between sport and education, and supports the holistic development of youth as both athletes and future leaders.
Such national recognition highlights the positive long-term impact of school sport. Rewarding young athletes for their achievements on and beyond the field sends a powerful message — one that underlines a country’s commitment to nurturing future generations through sport, education, and shared values.
