Ivorian Office of School and University Sports (OISSU) Organises Its Zone Finals
The month of June saw the Ivorian Office of School and University Sports (OISSU) launch its organisation the main phase of the 2021 sport calendar, the zone finals which began on 5 June. These competitions have been taking place in the 8 regional capitals around the Côte d’Ivoire, of the OISSU sports development zone, which include Abidjan, Abengourou, Daloa, Soubré, Man, Toumodi, Korhogo and Yamoussoukro.
By the end of the zone finals, a total of 4,088 athletes, including 3,064 boys and 1,024 girls, will have competed in 131 finals in football, handball, basketball, volleyball, and rugby. These zone finals have been taking place following the interdepartmental competitions which were held from May 15 to 19, 2021 in 31 regional capitals and the interregional phases which were fought from May 22 to 29, 2021 in 16 localities.
OISSU Director General and ISF Continental President, Mr Mamadou Souleymane Kone spoke here following the finals in Abidjan:
