ISF Executive Committee 2022-2026

ISF Executive Committee taking place in Rabat in Morocco from 29th of June to 1st of July 2022

Members of the ISF Executive Committee gathered to present the achievements and future plans for the development of school sport and the ISF.

The first day of the ISF Executive Meeting in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, gathered together ISF President Laurent Petrynka, ISF Secretary General/CEO Hrvoje Custonja, ISF Sports Director Josip Košutić and three ISF Vice Presidents Youssef Belqasmi, Antonio Hora Filho and Ailong Zhang alongside four Continental presidents and 12 assessors.

The first period of the agenda was scheduled for the reports on behalf of the ISF with a focus on activities, events and projects that had successfully taken place in 2022 with the ISF Gymnasiade in Normandy as the centrepiece of events as it marked the largest event in ISF history, as well as the largest international school multi-sport event in the world.

ISF Vice Presidents together with ISF Continental Presidents Mamadou Souleymane Kone, Jose Martinez Sanchez Tenorio, Niwat Limsuknirun and Zeljko Tanaskovic presented their reports followed by open discussion between all members of the Executive Committee.

Through unanimous decision, it was later agreed that the the accommodation fee for ISF events would be raised from 50€ to 60€ per person per day, as needs and demands from ISF events continued to increase.

The second period of the first day’s agenda focused on reports and proposals from the ISF Sport department which focused on the upcoming ISF event She Runs - Active GirlsLead, taking place this year from 12th to 17th September 2022 in Brussels, Belgium.

The ISF Executive Committee during their meeting also welcomed and appointed new ISF committee chairs:

 

Ms Gao Fengli (P.R. China) for the Department of Health and Medical Care Committee

Mr Mattias Metsaru (Estonia) for the Youth and Athletes Committee

Mr Jennings Rusty Buchanan (USA) for the Marketing Committee

Mr Youssef Belqasmi (Morocco) for the Committee on Development and Cooperation Committee

Ms Diane de Navacelle de Coubertin (France) for the Education and Legacy Committee

Mr Olivier Girault (France) for the Sports Committee

Mr Roman Greba (Ukraine) for the Ethics and Legal Committee

Ms Valerie Lebondo (Gabon) for the Gender Equality Committee

Ms Sophie Bordet (Peru) for the Integrity Committee

Dr Sager Al Khalifa (Bahrain) for the Scientific Committee

 

Also, by unanimous decision of the Executive Committee, Josip Kosutic was reappointed to the position of ISF Sports Director for the mandated period of four years.

Following the appointment of the Chairs of the ISF Committees, an open call for members of these ISF Committees was then opened.

The final reports of the day were presented by the ISF Chair of the Coubertin Legacy and Education Committee, Diane de Navacelle de Coubertin, a new member to the ISF Family and Sophie Bordet, Chair of the ISF Integrity Committee who in addition proposed the reactivation of the School Sport Foundation.

The first day of the ISF Executive Committee was concluded with the overall ISF EC meeting plans for the 2022 and 2023 calendars, taking place during upcoming ISF events starting with ISF She Runs – Active Girls’ Lead in Belgium, ISF WSC Taekwondo in Mexico, Winter Gymnasiade in Türkiye, U15 Gymnasiade in Brazil and Summer Gymnasiade in Bahrain.
