Serbia host of the 1st ISF World School Games U15 – Belgrade 2021; starting a new school year with a lot of optimism
After the first wave of the pandemic and the lockdown that lasted from March to August, ISF member School Sport Federation of Serbia and its President Željko Tanasković, also ISF Executive Committee member, is now entering a new school year with a lot of optimism, and with a few new rules to protect students’ health.
Same as last year, School Sport Federation of Serbia will celebrate the European Week of Sport. The federation will first organize a project where they will unite culture with sport. This project will be followed by school competitions and School Sport events.
This year the School Sport Federation of Serbia has a slightly different schedule; they will start with the individual sports events and continue with team competitions in the second half of the school year.
While in lockdown, everyone realized the key role sport plays in people’s lives. The federation decided to find a way to organize events, despite the hardships of the pandemic, with a goal of supporting youth to develop healthy habits (using sport as a learning tool).
The lockdown also forced federation to embrace the digitalization and support youth through online activities. But Uroš Savić, General Secretary of School Sport Federation of Serbia, is staying optimistic: “Hopefully we will be able to get back to the “good old way” soon so that children and youth can make new friendships again through sports and other projects. We want to encourage all ISF members to start organizing competitions because everything is possible if they want to, of course, respecting all regulations,”
See you in Belgrade for the 1st ISF World School Games U15, taking place from June 26 to July 4, 2021
