16th ASSF General Assembly & 22nd ASSF Technical Committee Meeting 2022 was held online
On December 21, the 16th ASSF General Assembly & 22nd ASSF Technical Committee Meeting 2022 was held online. More than 40 representatives from 23 countries and regions including Brunei; China; Hong Kong, China; India; Indonesia; Iran; Kazakhstan; Kuwait; Lebanon; Macau, China; Malaysia; Mongolia; Nepal; Oman; Qatar; Singapore; Sri Lanka; Thailand; Turkmenistan; Vietnam; Jordan; France and Croatia attended the meeting. ISF President Laurent Petrynka and ISF Secretary General Hrvoje Custonja were invited to attend the meeting and introduced the latest activities and future plans of ISF.
Dr. LIU Lixin, Secretary-General of the Joint Secretariat of the Student Sport Association of the Ministry of Education, Vice President of China School Sports Federation (hereinafter referred to as “FSSC”) attended the meeting as the President of Asian School Sport Federation(hereinafter referred to as “ASSF”); Mr. ZHANG Ailong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Joint Secretariat of the Student Sport Association of the Ministry of Education, ISF Vice President, FSSC Standing Committee member attended the meeting.
Mr. Laurent Petrynka highly praised the great contribution made by ASSF to the development of ISF, highlighted the leading and exemplary role in the development of continental school sports federations, and called on more Asian countries and regions to join the ISF family and participate in ISF events.
Mr. Hrvoje Custonja introduced ISF events over the past year, shared the ISF calendar from 2023 to 2028 and briefly introduced the ISF Academy. Hrvoje highlighted the upcoming ISF Winter Gymnasiade, ISF U15 Gymnasiade 2023 and world championships, sincerely invited Asian members to participate in the games. Moreover, Hrvoje invited Asian members to host ISF events and bring more ISF activities to Asia.
Dr. LIU Lixin Fully affirmed the active participation of Asian members in various ISF events and called for more Asian countries and regions to join ASSF and ISF, providing Asian solution and contributing Asian Power to the prosperity of school sports. LIU also disclosed the work plan after China was entitled the hosting right of three consecutive ISF Football World Cups in 2024, 2026 and 2028, expressed that China will work with ASSF, ASFF and ISF to build ISF Football World Cup into a brand event.
In the short but fruitful virtual conference, participants shared development of school sports in member countries and regions, deliberated relevant work reports, formulated calendar for 2023 and beyond, approved the membership affiliation of Jordan, and discussed strategic development plan for ASSF. Everyone aims to create a better future for school sports.
