Sport and a healthy way of living are extremely popular among Ukrainian youth; meet Ukrainian Federation of School Sports
Ukrainian Federation of School Sports was the most successful delegation at the 17th edition of ISF Gymnasiade, winning more medals (112) and trophies than any other of the 55 nations participating.
The country of sport places physical education on the very top of the priorities.
Most of the Ukrainian schoolers know that sports and other active, educational activities play a fundamental role in developing a successful career; not only in sports, but in any other field of work as well.

Sport events, such as the Schools Championships and Gymnasiade, bring out the young leaders who are cherished as the positive role models for the other Ukrainian youngsters. In Ukraine, the investment in School Sport and its young champions is considered as the investment in the future Universiade and Olympic champions.
Mr Roman Greba, the Ukraine’s deputy minister of education and science, is the president of the Ukrainian Federation of School Sports and a member of the ISF Executive Committee (Assessor).
Ukrainian Federation of School Sports’ strategic targets, to develop youth sport further, are:
Organizing tournaments, Championships and School Games (Gymnasiades) in various sports; at least four bigger sport and public events per year
Participation of Ukraine on the international stage
The launch of international competition ( as a host country)
Organizing youth (sport) forums, conferences, educational activities on doping, fighting racism, school parliament, etc.
In 2017, Ukrainian Federation of School Sports held 54 competitions in 25 different sports with 500.000 children from 2500 schools participating. The Ukrainian Gymnasiade events were organized between February and April, and hosted 13 sport disciplines and 1600 athletes from 24 regions.
With enormous potential and great ambition, the Ukrainian Federation of School Sports plans to take School Sport in Ukraine, on a new level (2019-2022):
Host the World Schools Championships in badminton and futsal.
Futsal, billiard, badminton GUAM School Games 2019.
Organize the international handball tournament in Uzhgorod (October-November 2018)
Host official international competitions according to ISF plans; organizing Gymnasiade 2022-2026
