“The winner is and always will be volleyball”
Nenad Golijanin
From 25th June to 03rd July, Belgrade will bear the colors of blue and yellow represented by the official volleyball balls.
This 24th World Schools Championship will be the biggest ISF event ever in the framework of volleyball, welcoming a total of 64 teams from 36 countries. 124 matches played in 10 different halls located in Belgrade.
See the results of the draw here, the location of the halls here and the matches schedules for girls and boys.
If you are not in Belgrade, no worries ! A livestream will be available starting from 26th till 02nd based on the planning mentioned above, the links will be shared on social networks (see at the bottom).
However, this world schools championship is not only about sport performances, but it has involved a range of educational initiatives about nutrition, anti-doping and youth.

The youth was in the heart of the preparation – after a difficult selection, two schools (8th Belgrade High School and Music High School ‘Kosta Manojlovic’) were rewarded for the song lyrics written as anthem of the event. The song “we will block you” will be performed all along – and guess what?! The four official languages of ISF are represented.
We will block you
When the school bell rings you know where we’ll be
At the court playing volleyball with our mates
We got ball in our hands
Take your stands
Leaving our hearts all over the place
Singing
We will, we will block you x2
When volleyball calls you don’t press decline
You take all of your stuff and you form a line
County’s colors on your face
Stand with grace
Waving our flags all over the place
Wir werden du blockieren
Wir werden du blockieren
Match point, ball high in the air
You make the shot, there’s no country prouder than yours that day
Celebrating with your friends
Anthem plays
Heart full of memories that will never fade
Os vamos a hacer un bloque
Os vamos a hacer un bloque
Everybody
Nous allons vous bloquer x2
Also, Smetchy and Blocky, the famous double-headed mascot, designed by a young designer from college – Marko Serer, will cheer up the teams until finals. The winners will be rewarded with a trophy called “Volly” designed by Stefan Cvijanovic from a College of design. He wanted to represent the spirit of a body in action of service.
Finally; this event will be a wonderful opportunity to promote inclusion in sport since an Unified Volleyball match will precede the semi-finals and the final, with the participation Special Olympics teams coming from Serbia, Poland and Germany.
