On 9 February, in Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation, the chairman of Youth of Russia and ISF Executive Committee member, Mr Alan Abaev, held a working meeting with the Minister of Sports of the Sverdlovsk region Mr Leonid Rapoport, as part of the preparations for the ISF Gymnasiade School Summer Games 2024.
During the meeting, Mr Abaev outlined the proposal to hold the ISF Gymnasiade 2024 in Ekaterinburg, to Mr Rapoport, who noted that the hosting of the Gymnasiade event is one of the most important directions for the development of children and youth sports in the Sverdlovsk region.
Organised every two years, this multi-sport event is the largest event on the ISF calendar and consists of both individual and team competitions. This year the ISF Gymnasiade Jinjiang 2020, will take place on the 16 – 23 October 2021 in the city of Jinjiang, P.R. China, with the 2022 edition being held in Normandie, France, followed by Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation in 2024.
The whole of the ISF family is greatly looking forward to the Gymnasiade 2024 and to visiting the city of Ekaterinburg and the Russian Federation, a country that is globally known for its experience in organising high-level sport events.
