On December 27th 2019, the 65th Sport Oscar awards for the best athletes, federations, teams and coaches (for the year 2019) were organized in the National Opera and Ballet, in Skopje, North Macedonia.
Categories also included the Sport Oscar for the best school teams (enrolled in primary and secondary education). The best primary school sport team award went to Primary school Vidoe Podgorec from Strumica, a team which became the national champion in volleyball and took 7th place in the ISF World Schools Championship in Porec, Croatia.

The best secondary school sport team of the year was the team from High School Nikola Karev from Skopje which took second place in the national championship in basketball and 8th place in the ISF World Schools Championship in basketball (held in Greece).

Other Sport Oscars were awarded to the best national teams, sport federation, coaches, athletes with special needs, youth and best athletes (male and female). The best female athlete became Polixena Jovanoska, karate athlete which won the bronze medal in the European championship. The captain of the men’s handball team “Vardar”, the European team champion in 2019, became the best male athlete of the year.
At the ceremony, the North Macedonian School Sport Federation was highlighted as the “foundation of the sport” in the speech of the Director of Sport and Youth Agency.
