On January 25-27, 2017, an ISF delegation formed by ISF President, Mr. Laurent Petrynka, ISF Secretary General, Mr. Jan Coolen, and ISF Deputy President Mr. Stelios Daskalakis, conducted an official visit to the Russian Federation.
During its visit, the ISF officials had meetings with the Russian Minister of Sports, Mr. Pavel Kolobkov, and with the representatives of the Russian School Sport Organisation.
The sport authorities of the Russian Federation confirmed their will to invest in the organisation of big youth sport events in order to welcome the youth of the world on Russian soil in a spirit of friendship and togetherness.
Furthermore, they also highlighted their commitment to bid for the organisation of major school sport events in the next years. In this framework, the Russian city of Oryol will organise the first Sambo World Schools Championships in July 2018.
This meeting allowed the ISF President to discuss the major stakes in sport that faced by the Russian Federation ; specifically, the one related to the education and sport values. Additionally, the representatives of the of the Ministry expressed their clear readiness to set the new pace of Russian sport by means of an enhanced value and educational programme accompanying all the youth sport events that the Russian Federation will organise in the next years.
