Jinjiang, 5-10 November 2019 – ISF made its third inspection visit to Jinjiang, China, the host city of the ISF Gymnasiade School Summer Games 2020.
From 5-10 November 2019, ISF delegation, led by the ISF President Mr Laurent Petrynka, visited Jinjiang, China for the third inspection visit before the ISF Gymnasiade 2020. The visit included venue tours, discussions on general preparations and the ISF Management Committee meeting.
ISF delegation consisted of Laurent Petrynka, ISF President, Robson Aguiar, ISF Deputy President, Hrvoje Custonja, ISF Secretary General, Kole Gjeloshaj, ISF Deputy Secretary General, Josip Kosutic, ISF Sports Director, Romain Fermon, ISF Marketing and Communication Director, Zeljko Tanaskovic ISF Chair of Sports Committee, Stelios Daskalakis, ISF Vice Chair of Sports Committee, Justus Mugisha (UGA), ISF TC President of football, Renos Pittalis (CYP), TC President of basketball, Raj Kumar Karki (NPL), TC coordinator of taekwondo, Rifaat Chabouk (ESP), TC coordinator of archery and Han Jianyun (CHN), ISF TC Coordinator for Wushu.
In Jinjiang, ISF delegation was welcomed by high level Chinese authority which supported the visit and ensured the inspection and the meetings were successful. ISF cooperated with the local organizing committee and its members; Mr Xue Yanqing, President of Chinese School Sport Federation (CSSF), Mr Yang Liguo, CSSF Executive Committee member, and Mr Jason Dong, CSSF Deputy Director.
The main aim of the visit was the inspection of the general preparations for the ISF Gymnasiade 2020, which included discussions on the development of the sport programme, transport infrastructure, accommodation for the delegations, education activities, marketing, communication and broadcasting. ISF delegation also paid a visit to the sport venues and reviewed the main protocol and the hospitality plan.
ISF Management Committee meeting took place during the visit. The members discussed the preparation for the upcoming ISF Executive Committee, set to be held in Zagreb, Croatia from 28-29 November 2019.
ISF Gymnasiade School Summer Games 2020 will take place from 17-24 October 2020 in Jinjiang, China. Young athletes and ISF members from all over the World will have a chance to participate in 18 sport disciplines. Football, badminton, basketball and table tennis, which so far have been organised as the World Schools Championships, will be included in the sport programme. The agenda will also feature three new sports: jump rope, wushu and diving. Other sports include: athletics, archery, chess, fencing, gymnastics (rhythmic, aerobic and artistic), judo, taekwondo, wrestling and swimming.
