Rio, Brazil – From May 18-21, 2018, members of ISF General Assembly gathered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the 2018 ISF General Assembly and Executive Committee meeting which’s highlight were the 2018 elections for the president and the positions in the Executive Committee and Technical Commission of ISF.
Laurent Petrynka re-elected as the president of ISF
Petrynka’s first mandate has been synonymous with growth and efficiency, leading to a remarkable increase in the number of countries affiliated to the ISF (over 100).
The growth of ISF reached its peak recently at the first ever International Multisport Youth event being held in Africa; record-breaking ISF Gymnasiade 2018, hosted by Morocco, with 58 countries participating, out of which 20 were from Africa.

Petrynka, who is also a member of the Olympic Education Commission and a National Director of the Union Nationale du Sport Scolaire (UNSS), will serve for another four years - a mandate of 2018-2022 - with a focus on:
- Structuring, sustainability and development of ISF.
- Increased rigour and credibility towards political, financial and media contacts.
- Reinforcing the 6 pillars of the ISF’s «VISION 2030» programme.
- Making ISF an essential player in world sports and in every country that wants better education for its youth.

Elections for position in the Executive Committee took place on May 20, 2018 at the General Assembly. Nominations of all technical commission's members and presidents were attributed on May 21, 2018, by the members of ISF Executive Committee.
