Brussels, 1 April 2019 - ISF Secretary General / CEO Mr Hrvoje Čustonja will participate at the EU Sport Forum 2019, organised by the European Commission, Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture in collaboration with the Romanian presidency of the European Union, and held on 8-9 April 2019 in Bucharest, Romania.
At the plenary session “Empowering Girls through Sport”, scheduled for Monday, 8 April 2019, Mr Čustonja will present the ISF’s groundbreaking project, funded by the Erasmus+Sport programme, She Runs Active Girls’ Lead and how the event is contributing to the empowerment of girls, using school sport as a tool.
She Runs Active Girls' Lead is the first international school event to promote girls' health, emancipation, and leadership through school sport. The first edition of the project was held in Paris, France, from 12-15 March 2019, and saw 500 girls from 35 countries and 4 continents “running for their rights”. A four-day event included various activities on topics of leadership, education, cultural diversity, women in sport, history and entrepreneurship, and hosted famous sportswomen such as Paula Radcliffe, Valentina Marchei, Brigitta Kervinen and Laurence Fischer.

EU Sport Forum in an annual event, aimed at EU sport stake holders to exchange good practices and meet the policy makers and representatives of the EU institutions and of the Member States.
