“We must exchange experiences in order to learn from each other”. These were the words of welcome that Laurent Petrynka, ISF President, used to open the ISF seminar for the delegations of the World Schools Championships 2016.
Previously this year, in January, a similar event was held. However, the seminar that took place in the beginning of this week, November 9, had a broader focus including aspects of both the organisation and communication before, during and after a WSC, and not only matters related to communication as was the case for the previous seminar.
Some of the central topics of the seminar included an introduction to the requirements relating to protocols, ceremonies, sponsoring, and the cultural programme during any WSC as well as a presentation to registration and communication tools and the School Sport Foundation gala dinner.
In addition to the ISF team, 22 people were present, representing nine countries. Everyone happily shared their experiences and contributed with great ideas for the benefit of all present, not only for the event and communication managers, but also for the people involved in the ISF team, who genuinely appreciates such knowledge sharing to learn from some of the very experienced event organisers. “It’s like a win-win situation” as Mr Petrynka said.
ISF would like to pay thanks to everyone participating, their contribution to making the seminar a great success, and lastly, ISF hopes to be able to organise similar meetings in the future to foster improved coordination and strengthened relationships between event organisers and the ISF.
