End of February, the President of the Technical Commission of Badminton, Laetitia Picard (France), former President of the Technical Commission of Badminton, Roger Notermans and the ISF Executive Director, Norbert Kever (Belgium) went to Malta to meet with the organizing committee.
The ISF WSC Badminton 2016 will take place from March 28 to April 3 2016 in the wonderful Mediterranean Island of Malta.
The visit lasted two days in which the ISF delegation visited the whole venue and involved stakeholders. They had a meeting with the Badminton Federation and the Malta School Sport Federation (MSSF). They visited the infrastructures of the GZIRA sport hall. They met with the National Council of Sport and visited, afterwards, the other sport infrastructures in the area. They had a meeting scheduled with the political stakeholders involved in the WSC. Finally, they went to the accommodation places and the diner places of the Charity Gala Dinner.
The Badminton World Schools Championship will take place in three different cities. Each sport venue will have its own catering place to avoid the dense traffic of the Island. One of the sport venues is under construction to upgrade the floor and the structures.
All the participants will stay in one hotel in Bugibba. The hotel is very close to the sea. The cultural day will be the occasion for the participant to visit the capital, La Valetta and Mdina, known as the Silent City.
The three major people involved in the organization, David Azzopardi, Adèle Muscat and their colleague, are according to Laetitia Picard, very dynamic, involved with a important local support and excellent knowledge regarding the necessary needs to make it successful.
The WSC championship gives the occasion to Malta to develop their sport infrastructures and expertise for world tournaments
