Within the coming months, interesting things are to happen. Monday and Tuesday this week, September 7th and 8th, ISF President, Laurent Petrynka, and Secretary General, Jan Coolen, went for an official visit in Tirana, Albania, hosted by the National Olympic Committee of Albania (NOC). During the two-day visit, Mr. Petrynka and Mr. Coolen had the great pleasure of meeting the Prime Minister, Mr. Rama, and Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla.
The purpose of the visit was to provide the NOC with advice on the creation of a school sport association in Albania, and what makes a great starting point for this establishment is the support the NOC already receives from both the Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Sports.
In addition to the news about the future creation of a school sport association, we can also announce that Albania soon will be an affiliated member of ISF. One of the first activities, intending on taking place in the country following from its membership of ISF, will be carried out in association with The School Sport Foundation within one of the coming months.
The School Sport Foundation was established in 2014 by ISF with the core objective being to promote education through sport. By means of its well-established network in sports and schools worldwide, ISF will seek to exert a positive impact on youth, especially in developing countries.
