ISF World School Championship 2020
On Monday, 18 November 2019, ISF President Mr Laurent Petrynka, accompanied by the ISF Marketing and Communication Director Mr Romain Fermon, participated in a meeting with Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture at European Commission Ms Themis Christophidou, Deputy Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture Ms Viviane Hoffmann and Head of the Sport Unit at the European Commission Mr Yves Le Lostecque.
The objective of the meeting was to follow up on the great cooperation during the ISF She Runs Active Girls' Lead event 2019 in Paris, as well as to discuss the future collaboration.
The cooperation with the European Commission is crucial to bring sport closer to youth. Sport and physical activity are a form of education which can contribute to students' health, social skills and academic performance by teaching the values of inclusion, equality and leadership.
She Runs Active Girls' Lead project was funded by the Erasmus+ Sport programme of the European Commission. It was the first international school event to promote girls' health, gender equality and leadership through school sport. The first edition of the event took place in Paris, France, from March 12-15, welcoming 500 young women from 33 countries.
Today ISF President will present the She Runs Active Girls' Lead project at the New Leaders Forum: read more.
