Brussels, February 13 - It is with deep sadness that ISF has learnt of the sudden passing of Mr Alexander Gray Davies, ISF America president and the Head of the School Sports Department of the Catholic University Sports Club, Chile.
Mr Gray dedicated his life to youth and school sport. He was the current ISF America president and a longtime member of ISF Executive Committe, greatly contributing to the development of school sport in America and its global involvement within the ISF.
As the Head of the School Sports Department of the Catholic University Sports Club in Chile, Mr Gray devoted his time to creating opportunities for the young students from Chile and America, using sport and education as a vehicle for change in the lives of the youth.
ISF president, Mr Laurent Petrynka: "I am deeply saddened about the sudden passing of Mr Alexander Gray Davies, my dear and longtime colleague and a true champion of sport. ISF has lost a great friend and an even greater supporter of school sport. Mr Gray immensely contributed to the global development of ISF with his dedicated service as an ISF America president and his longtime involvement in the ISF Executive Committee. I would like to thank for Mr Gray's for his contribution to the evolution and expansion of ISF; his legacy will be carried on by the future generations from Chile, and beyond. On behalf of ISF, I would like to express my deepest sympathies to Mr Gray's family."
ISF Secretary General / CEO, Mr Hrvoje Custonja: "School sport has lost a leader and a friend. With his unwavering commitment to school sport and the youth, Mr Gray led the way for a greater development of ISF across the World. His work, passion and commitment to the federation, contributed to the global expansion of ISF, opening doorways to youth aspiring to become global school sport agents of change. On behalf of ISF, I wish to express our deepest sympathies and pass on our condolences to Mr Gray's family and loved ones."
