ISF Combat Games hitting for the first time!
The first year of ISF Combat games organised by International School Sport Federation and School Games Federation of India (SGFI) just started! From 7th to 14th of July, 300 young athletes from France, China, India, United Arab Emirates, Russia and Brazil will gather together in Agra, India, to compete in 4 sports in total – Taekwondo, Wrestling, Judo and Karate.
This innovative format of a school sport event allows to initiate more important cooperation between ISF and International Sport Federations of Judo, Taekwondo, Karate, Wrestling and Boxing.
In April 2017, the International Judo Federation (IJF) and ISF signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Budapest, Hungary, to commit to jointly developing judo for young athletes. The cooperation between federations will coordinate the structure of judo school events. It will also focus on education, communication and special programmes.
The objective of this new progressive format for 2019 is to massively enlarge the number of combat sports and school athletes. Following the main ISF motto “Education through sport”, ISF events are not only about competing but also about getting to know new cultures and making new international friendships. Boxing has already showed an interest to join the edition and ISF is thrilled for more sports to follow and join the development of combat sports for young students.
Let the first ISF Combat games 2017 begin!
