Changing the future: Anti – doping awareness among the youth
In cooperation with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) which promotes and coordinates the fight against doping at international level and International Federations, who ensure that anti-doping principles are respected at international level, the International School Sport Federation (ISF) has taken the opportunity to release an anti - doping leaflet, which should help the young athletes to learn more about this important issue they could be facing in the future.
ISF believes that this problem doesn’t concern only professional athletes and it’s crucial for all the young athletes and sports fans to be aware and informed about the danger of doping.
The anti – doping leaflet is the first ISF outcome in the field of this problematic, created on ISF’s journey to contribute to the anti - doping objectives of the International Sport movement. It’s a work contribution to prevent and inform in an educative and comprehensible way the youngsters about the issues and to meat one of the main values of ISF, the fair play.
ISF has worked on spreading this value through the ambassador project, when pair of young athletes is chosen to be the ambassadors of their sport, to motivate and share their experiences with ISF competitions with their younger colleagues, with the importance placed on the fair – play including anti – doping and health matters.
The ISF Youth Council will support also this matter thanks to different activities developed the project Play True School Generation. Stay tuned !
Being a healthy athlete is the state of mind ISF wants to encourage in all young people. It means having a code of conduct in the athlete’s sport, being careful about food and diet, listening to your own body, trusting it and know when to say no.

The leaflet not only introduces the young readers to the basic terminology, but also shows ways how to improve the athlete’s performances in a healthy way and explains why physical activity should be a part of every young person.
